জন্ম পশ্চিমবঙ্গের হাওড়া জেলার এক শিল্পাঞ্চলে, বেড়ে ওঠা মিশ্র ও বহুভাষাভাষী মানুষের মধ্যে। অল্প বয়সে লেখা প্রথম প্রকাশিত হলেও বেশ কয়েক বছর স্বেচ্ছায় লেখা থেকে দূরে চলে যাওয়া। বেশ কয়েকটি কাব্যগ্রন্থ প্রকাশিত হয়েছে পরপর; প্রকাশিত হয়েছে শিল্প ও সমাজ-সংস্কৃতি নিয়ে বহু প্রবন্ধ। বেশ কয়েকটি ছোটগল্প প্রকাশিত হয়েছে ও পাঠকের সমাদর পেয়েছে। ইংরেজি ভাষা ও সাহিত্যে স্নাতকোত্তর, শিক্ষকতা করেন একটি উচ্চমাধ্যমিক স্কুলে। শখ- নানা বিষয়ের বই পড়া ও গান শোনা।

He spent his years in different towns of Bengal due to his father’s transferable administrative job during his childhood days. Mr. Bandyopadhyay did his Honours Degree in English, & taught in Atreyee DAV Public School, Balurghat, as a teacher for a long time. Currently, he is retired. Writing poetry has been his passion since childhood. He used to write poems, essays & stories in the local magazines of Balurghat. But his writings have never been published brfore in a book form. Withering Leaves is his debut poetry collection. His poems focus on love, loneliness & despair.
