খুব অল্পবয়স থেকে বিভিন্ন পত্র-পত্রিকায় আত্মপ্রকাশ। ২০০২ সালে শারদ দেশ-এর মধ্য দিয়ে বৃহত্তর পাঠক সমাজে আত্মপ্রকাশ, তার পর-পরই আকাশবাণী কলকাতায় কবিতা পাঠের আমন্ত্রণ। পূর্বে শারদীয় আনন্দবাজার পত্রিকার আমন্ত্রিত কবি ছিলেন। এখন নিয়মিত শারদ দেশ-এর আমন্ত্রিত কবি। এ-যাবৎ লিখেছেন আনন্দবাজার পত্রিকা, দেশ, শিলাদিত্য, প্রসাদ, নন্দন, শুকতারা, নবকল্লোল, কবিসম্মেলন, কবিতা পাক্ষিক প্রভৃতি বহু বাণিজ্যিক কাগজে ও অজস্র লিটিল ম্যাগাজিনে। সাপ্তাহিক বর্তমান ম্যাগাজিনে প্রচুর প্রবন্ধ লিখেছেন।
প্রথম প্রকাশিত কাব্যগ্রন্থ ‘কাছের পাঁচিলগুলো’, ২০০৭ সালে প্রকাশিত হয়। তারপর প্রকাশিত হয় ‘চুকনগরের শীতবৃত্তান্ত’। আনন্দ পাবলিশার্স (সিগনেট প্রেস) থেকে কবির দু’টি কাব্যগ্রন্থ বেরিয়েছে । এ-যাবৎ কবির প্রকাশিত কাব্যগ্রন্থ পনেরোটি।

Add to cartআট ও নয়ের দশকে বাংলা সাহিত্যপত্রে সুমিতাভ ঘোষাল (জন্ম ১৯৬১) একটি পরিচিত নাম। উত্তর কলকাতার সাংস্কৃতিক আবহাওয়ায় তার ডালপালা বিস্তার। প্রায় চার দশক, বাংলা কবিতার বহুমাত্রিক নিরীক্ষা। গদ্যচর্চার ভিন্নতর ছায়া। বিভিন্ন পত্রপত্রিকায় লেখালেখি । মূলত কবিতা এবং কবিতা বিষয়ক গদ্য । পেয়েছেন ‘সুধীন্দ্রনাথ দত্ত স্মৃতি পুরস্কার’, ‘কালকণ্ঠ সাহিত্য পুরস্কার’। বাংলাদেশের পূর্ব-পশ্চিম পত্রিকা থেকে পেয়েছেন বিশেষ সাহিত্য সম্মান। চারটি তথ্যচিত্রের নির্মাতা। যুক্ত ছিলেন ‘মাসিক বসুমতী’ পত্রিকার সহ-সম্পাদনার সঙ্গে। সম্পাদিত পত্রিকা – পদ্য গদ্য সংবাদ, খোলামন, মাসিক কবিতাপত্র (যৌথভাবে)। ব্যক্তি সুমিতাভ প্রখর আড্ডাবাজ, নিজের ছায়ার কাছে উদ্দাম এবং অসহায়। নেশায় লুকিয়ে থাকা চকিত-ভ্রমণসঙ্গী।

His short stories, translations and folktale appeared in the three volumes of Oxford University Press (2006, 2011). He has translated Jayanta Mahapatra’s Sahitya Akademi Award Winning Poetry book Relationship into Bengali and the Bengali version Samparka was published by Sahitya Akademi. He has received Invierno Revista Official Magazine 2023 Award from Argentina. Budha on Planchette is the first poetry book of Choudhury, published by Penprints.

Born on April 9, 1952, hailing from Kolkata, Maitra’s foray into the world of translation began with his debut as a translator of notable works by authors like Ernest Hemingway and Howard Fast, translating them into Bengali. Some of his notable works include Gaandharva: Poems of Sankha Ghosh, published by Paschimbanga Bangla Academy, and Wrong Number and Other Stories of Mahasweta Devi, published by Seagull, Calcutta. He is also the author of Here & Beyond, an anthology of Bengali short stories written by women in the first half of the 20th Century, and The Jibanananda World, an anthology of literary essays on Jibanananda’s poetry and prose translated into English. He has translated Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s novella Parineeta into English under the title The Betrothed. His forthcoming work includes Four Chapters, an English translation of Tagore’s Bengali novel Chaar Adhyay being published by Orient Blackswan, edited by Prof. Sekhar Bandyopadhyay.When My Mother Sang is his debut poetry book from Penprints.
