  Poetry has always been a bridge across distances, carrying our voices beyond the bounds of time and place. This collection, 45 Vietnamese Poets — 45 Voices of the Heart, brings together a chorus of remarkable Vietnamese poets whose work spans generations, regions, and professions. From scientists and engineers to artists and educators, these writers share a deep love for poetry, and through their words, they reveal the vibrant inner life of a people shaped by history, dreams, and human connection.

  As the editor and translator, I have had the privilege of gathering these diverse voices, selecting poems that shine, and presenting them in a common language. I am grateful to the poets who entrusted me with their verses, and to the friends who supported this cross-cultural project. Three authors, Kieu Bich Hau and Tran Nhu Luan, who wrote directly in English, and Tran Ha Vi, who self-translated, are presented here in their own words. The other poems have been carefully translated from Vietnamese by me, Vo Thi Nhu Mai, in the hope of preserving their authentic spirit for new readers. Publication of this book by ISISAR & Penprints in Kolkata, stand as an evidence to our shared vision : to nurture a friendship between Vietnam and India drawn from literature and cultural appreciation. Poetry is, after all, a universal language of the soul. As this book journeys across borders and into new hearts, may it offer moments of beauty, reflection, and understanding.
